SYNOPSIS
Karine Marsilly has dedicated her life to the protection and preservation of trees.
She was one of the first women to train as a tree-climbing arborist more than 20 years ago. In her company, we will explore the world of trees and witness how Karine shares her love, dedication and struggle for nature around her, day after day, tirelessly.
A film that raises awareness of the importance of these living beings and awakens the inner tree that has slumbered within us since the dawn of time.
THE DIRECTOR
Damien Fritsch is a writer-director born in 1963 in Obernai. After a Master's degree in Ethnology from the University of Human Sciences in Strasbourg, he taught filmmaking from 1995 to 2022 in the Film Studies program at the Wissembourg High School, and in the Bachelor's and Master's programs in documentary filmmaking at the Faculty of Arts in Strasbourg. From 2017 to 2022, he was a member of the audiovisual commission of the Scam (French Society of Multimedia Authors).
After studying Ethnology in Strasbourg in the 1980s, he shot his first film, "Anne", alone with a painter friend in 1993. Without money, and with just a Hi8 camera, he wanted to see if he was capable of making a film. He spent nearly six months following her work and overcame the challenge making his first film. This will be the beginning of many cinematic adventures, where the other person he seeks to film helps him understand life, the world. Since then, he has continued to follow this path, which keeps leading him to fabulous beings.
