SYNOPSIS
Bâbâdjoun, my dear father, what is Iran like now? What if I went there? History has reshuffled the cards of our personal stories; created knots and gaps. Going to Iran is a yearning for you, something that has been so sorely lacking in my life. But am I capable of going to this country you fled?
In the memory of my heart, the verses of a Persian poem you taught me remain: “Nothing remains, everything passes, everything changes, so live in joy.” Bâbâdjoun, will we be able to make up for lost time before we disappear?

LA REALISATRICE
Berlinale Talents 2026 and IDFAcademy 2024 member, Hélène Rastegar is a screenwriter and director of fiction, documentary, and experimental films. After co-directing the "Chacun son Court" festival, she trained at the Ardèche Images writing residency in Lussas, as well as in filmmaking and development.
Her films are influenced by a constantly evolving dual Iranian culture, featuring female characters whose bodies bear the marks of an inner struggle to survive and find their place. A former laureate of the Institut de l'Engagement, she is committed and passionate, and co-president of Safire, where she oversees the documentary workshop.
Her civic engagement was recognized with the Copernic Prize for Dialogue, Fraternity, and Peace. As a consultant for documentary projects, she also teaches film classes in high school and university, and participates as a reader in support fund committees.
