StoryLab Fipadoc 2025, in coproduction with France 3 Grand Est
Production assistance of Région Grand Est and CNC
Yesterday, Jean-Pierre Guérin became Mohammed Guerroumi once again. After 54 years of legal battles, he reclaimed the identity that had been taken from him in order to be assimilated into French society.
The son of a harki, disowned by both Algeria and France, he realized at the end of his quest that his fight was not so much a legal one as the hope for reconciliation with his history.
He then retraced the threads of his family history, drawing on archives and living memories.
THE DIRECTOR
After six years as an investigator and assistant director on numerous documentaries produced by Zadig Productions, I decided to further my training at the Fémis Documentary Workshop in 2019.
Based in Strasbourg since 2021, I continue to work on documentaries in development and production. I am also undertaking a filmmaking and archival project with MIRA – a regional film archive.
In 2025, I participated in the Fipadoc Pitches as part of the Storylab for my film "Pouvoir écrire mon nom" (Being able to write my name).
