SYNOPSIS
The slow dance is a ritual on the verge of disappearing. Through its exploration of this unique musical genre, *Slow: A Love Story* tells how a simple dance has shaped romantic encounters since the second half of the 20th century.
A unique sensory exploration, these few minutes on the dance floor—which leave a deep imprint on the heart—reveal our history of relating to others in its most intimate and universal form.
THE DIRECTOR
After earning a nursing degree with a specialization in psychiatry and humanitarian care, Gaël Bizien turned to journalism, working with the newspaper Ouest France. A graduate of the ESJ in Paris, he served as a columnist and reporter for Radio France’s France Bleu network for about ten years.
With a degree in TV journalism from the École de l’image des Gobelins in Paris, he co-directed his first documentary film in 2011 (Après la gauche), which realized his desire to tell stories for film and television.
Living between Brittany and Paris, he has since undertaken numerous writing and directing projects, each offering opportunities for new encounters and experimentation with fresh themes.
Thus, he wrote and directed a docu-fiction in 2016 (Korriganed), a documentary on pushing one’s limits (Dur comme fer) in 2021, and has co-hosted Tous Parano, a successful podcast on conspiracy theories, since 2020.
